As viewed from geomechanics, stratigraphic stress distribution in pinnate fault zone is analysed, conception of influence of unbalanced stratigraphic stress on bridge foundations is expounded, and finally design principles for bridges to span the pinnate fault zone, calculation methods for bridge foundation design and measures against the unbalanced stress are proposed.
