Taking the workpiece period as a basic deformation unit, the author investigated in this paper the period relationship without consideration of the backward slip in bite zone, and discussed a principle of the phase adjusting.

Simulation results and comparison with the effect of PI control show that the tension robust controller designed has better disturbance attenuation performance for uncertainty such as front-back skidding, external disturbance, etc.
